This highly experiential student leadership development intensive is intended to give an overview of team leadership skills to provide a foundation for students to lead future Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP) teams. This course is divided into three separate half-day sessions (on Saturday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM) to be held throughout the fall academic semester. Students must attend all three sessions. Expert faculty will teach participants skills they need to be an effective leader of an interprofessional team, including:
- Getting to know yourself as an IPCP leader.
- Develop effective interprofessional relationships to enhance team success.
- IPCP Teams impact toward the quality of care for vulnerable populations.
- Leading teams effectively.
This seminar is open to all DO/MD/PA/APRN students pursuing their professional degrees. It will be held over three Saturdays. The 2018 dates include: February 3, February 17, and March 3. The cost of the program (except for food) is covered by a grant from the HRSA Primary Care Training and Enhancement program.
