This comprehensive workshop will be offered to a small group of newly employed nurses who do not have previous experience as Labor and Delivery nurses. The vision is that this workshop will dovetail with the existing orientation program within individual agencies.
The workshop will be a total of eight weeks in length. The dates are July 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 27, August 10, 17, 24, 31. Participants will be required to have significant study time available, particularly during the first two weeks. Specific study dates are: July 7, 9, 12, 14 and 16 when participants may not be scheduled for participation in agency orientation. Click here to sign up for the workshop.
This workshop is intended for highly motivated nurses who wish to be actively involved in their own professional development. The expectation is that participants will attend all of the dates identified above from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day at the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, 5290 E. Yale Circle, Suite 100, Denver. There will be significant non-class time required to prepare for the face to face sessions that will be comprised of application level, active participation from participants.
The above dates will be divided between classroom time (mostly discussion, case studies, group work) and simulation. A portion of the simulation time will be high fidelity simulation; the rest will be spent in reflection and a number of exercises that will build the expertise for the novice L&D nurse.
