Long Term Care Leadership Development

For Directors of Nursing and Assistant Directors of Nursing

For Long Term Care Leaders ...

The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence presents a 5-day Leadership Workshop for Directors of Nursing and Assistant Directors of Nursing in Long Term Care.  Leaders will develop greater skills and expertise in change management, diversity and culture, effective communication, conflict resolution and creating excellence in the workplace.  In addition, content specific to long term care will be presented by expert faculty, including end of life issues, culture change, preparing for regulatory visits, quality assurance and generational issues.  By the end of the workshop, directors will be prepared to develop a capstone project to be conducted and completed over the following ten months.

All participants in the 5-day Leadership Workshop will recruit an executive to be their coach in the months following the workshop.  A direct supervisor may not be your coach, but another professional in your organization or community could fill this role.  It is not required that coaches be nurses.  Coaches will receive introductory instruction in coaching through the Center’s 2-day Introduction to Coaching workshop and will meet weekly for 30 minutes in person or by phone with leaders over 10 months’ time.  Past participants have found this coaching support to be essential to their mastery of new leadership skills and very helpful in completing their capstone projects.

The next course will be January 23 - 27, 2012 here in the Denver, CO area. The location of the workshop will be at Clermont Park located here in Denver, CO. This 5 day workshop will be from 7am - 4pm each day. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided each day.  Please click on the link below to sign up for this workshop. A map and directions are located below the registration link.

Please also keep January 31, 2012 and February 1, 2012 from 7am - 4pm open as possible snow/makeup day(s).
