The Clinical Placement Technology Platform will provide a standardized structure for health care agencies and schools of nursing to efficiently manage clinical rotations. It will streamline the process and promote better utilization of resources. The Nursing Education Department at Denver Health is privileged to participate in this project.

Online Clinical Placement Inventory

A user-friendly database that connects nursing schools with healthcare facilities that offer or would like to offer clinical education opportunities for student nurses. Participating schools can search opportunities in a variety of ways:

  • Geographic region
  • Facility type
  • Facility name
  • Unit type
  • Specialty type
  • Timeframe (e.g., fall semester, spring semester, summer, etc.)

The database also shows the number of student placements approved for each available unit, the shift hours (e.g., day shift, night shift).

Plus, clinical site managers can view information about student groups assigned to their unit on any given day during any given shift. However, no student-specific information is available, and the site respects HIPAA and FERPA privacy rules.

To protect the integrity of the database, information is read-only and print-only. Changes to the database are sent through the project director and placed into the database only after approval from the clinical agency.
