Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Diversifying the Healthcare Workforce

Building a more Diverse Healthcare Workforce

It is well documented that patient outcomes improve when healthcare providers mirror their community. Our ability to build a more diverse nursing workforce requires partnerships within communities, schools and healthcare systems - it takes a village.

Creating a More Inclusive Care Environment

The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence is focused on incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion as a component in all of our training programs. The goal is to build culturally inclusive teams and provide tools for courageous conversations.

Our Commitment

After many years of building diversity training and recruiting programs and seeing the impact, the Center is committed to incorporating DEI content, tools, and strategies in all our programs. Our team and board of directors has also participated in our DEI training to continue our individual and team journey to become culturally aware and inclusive.

Many of our team have also taken on an additional role to support this work.  These team members received hours of training on diversity, cultural awareness, bias and equity to be able to support the delivery of our diversity training. These Diversity Teaching Associates (DTAs) are important resource that enables the Center to offer our DEI programs to more organizations.

Additionally, the Center has convened a JEDI Advisory Council as a resource for the development of our DEI programs. Learn more about all our programs and contact us to begin your journey.
