What is a Preceptor?
A preceptor is an experienced clinical practitioner who guides new employees, new graduates, and students through the onboarding and competency validation process of unique clinical environments.
Bridging the gap between what a student learns in school and the real clinical world is increasingly challenging as our health care system becomes more and more complex. The same holds true for other practitioners who wish to change practice environments or positions.
In this series for novice and experienced preceptors, we will provide a set of tools that will serve you well as you embark on this new and expanded role! This series will be presented virtually and live.
* Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
