Rural Healthcare Workforce Pipeline Fellowship

The Challenge

To increase the number of upskilled healthcare workers in rural Colorado. Many healthcare workers consider furthering their education but are limited by various factors which typically include barriers in location, costs, childcare, transportation, flexibility in the workplace, and time.

The Solution

The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, in partnership with the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) and The Colorado Health Foundation has created a program designed to increase the number and capacity of trained and upskilled healthcare workers in rural Colorado  communities. This program will support healthcare fellows’ educational journey with both financial and non-financial support.

Our Impact

As a result of our efforts through this fellowship program, we hope to position the rural parts of our state to realize an increase in highly skilled healthcare workers that will be prepared to meet the growing healthcare needs in these underserved communities.
